WHAT IS SALT? IS ROCK SALT AND SPRING SALT THE SAME?

Salt is extremely important for our health and is one of the ideal foods to maintain the PH balance of our body. If the body does not receive enough salt, the PH balance in the blood cannot be achieved. Acidic blood can lead to immune system deterioration, kidney disease and many other diseases such as Alzheimer's.

Of course, to prevent these situations, it is very important to use natural salt and not to use salt. Because although refined salts meet our body's sodium needs, they are detrimental to our health due to the chemicals they contain and bring more harm than good to our body.

As a natural salt, the type of salt most recommended by experts is natural rock salt. Natural rock salt with high mineral content, produced without refining, is one of the right salts we should use for our health. So is rock salt the only type of salt we can use? How did the earth's natural salt deposits arise and how do they relate to each other?

FORMATION OF SALT SPRINGS

What would you think if we told you that all the salts you use are seawater based? At first glance this idea may seem a bit ridiculous, but after a little research we can see that it is not like that at all. Because as you know, the world wasn't always like this. The world, the surface of which is covered with sea water, took its current form through various geological periods, geographical events and many other factors. As a result of movements along fault lines, lands began to form around the world, while some regions rose, some regions became gutted. The seawater that covered the earth began to accumulate in these pits. These events, which occurred about 225 million years ago, began to preserve the unnatural seawater in these pits. Some of the seawater stored in these pits dried out over time and turned into rock, forming rock salts. Others formed salt lakes. Some of the salts we consume today are obtained from these sources. However, rock salt outperforms other sources of salt. Lakes and seas are exposed to more and more environmental pollution every day. This means that the salt we consume is full of pollutants such as microplastics and heavy metals. For this reason, experts recommend consuming natural rock salt, not sea salt or refined salt.

But how is spring salt, a different type of salt, created? There are freshwater springs as well as saltwater springs in the world. These freshwater resources, created by the accumulation of rainwater above and below ground, are necessary for our survival. Spring salts are the type of salt that is formed with the help of these fresh waters. These are salt springs that are created when the underground spring water comes to the surface saturated through the melting of the salt rock underground.

IS ROCK SALT AND SPRING SALT THE SAME?

If we look at the formation of spring salts, we can say that spring salt is the molten state of rock salt. Because the basis of the spring salt is underground rock salt. It contains all the minerals, naturalness and healthy structure of rock salt. In addition, as it circulates from the ground and comes to the surface, it absorbs the soil minerals into its structure, thus containing more minerals than the mineral ratio of rock salt. If we look at the result, rock salt and spring salt are basically the same type of salt.
